To confirm my personal bias (so you know I am normal, because everyone has a bias) I am a non denominational Christian who prefers to walk the walk than talk the talk. I made some notes as I watched this interesting presentation from a Christian point of view. I don’t know enough about scriptures to agree or disagree but it has offended so many people, especially Christians, that I’m going to keep it here and maybe dig deeper one day.
Yahweh incited genocide and extermination of Amalek, and Moses also incited genocide based on permissions or instructions from Yahweh. Yahweh was a violent coloniser. Yahweh introduced himself to Abraham as “the powerful one, the destroyer”
That does not sound like the character of God, as Jesus described him. Jesus described God as love and forgiveness. So why, for 2,000 years, has Christianity run with the notion that Yahweh is God?
Jesus never once used the word Yahweh, except disparagingly, like in Gospel John, chapter 8. Jesus called Yahweh a murderer, the father of lies and the Devil. Luke 11 and Matthew 7 Jesus mocked the idea that Yahweh is God. Hungry and thirsty children, crying out for food and drink and Yahweh tells them to get water from a stone, and sends snakes to kill them because they complain. Jesus said ‘what kind of father would treat his children like that?’
The Greek word for God is Theos, the Apostle Paul’s summation is that Theos means the God of the cosmos and everything in it.
Acts 15, a council was called in Jerusalem, with the brother of Jesus, James, and they decided that Yahweh’s law was at an end. The only rules is that Christians do not worship anything that is less than God, the believers remain sexually pure and they don’t eat meat sacrificed to idols.
Towards the end of John’s Gospel he makes it clear that God was something unknown to his Jewish followers.
Because Christianity wanted to be an international faith instead of a Jewish sect then instead of gluing Stoicism-Plato to the New Testament the Christian church decided to glue the Hebrew Cannon (6th Century BCE edit-redaction of the Hebrew scriptures) Old Testament of Yahweh worship. (Apostle Paul in Galatians). Why? Because they wanted people to forget the ‘Sky Armies’ etc.
If you worship a violent colonising xenophobe you will become a violent colonising xenophobe and call yourself “God’s Chosen”.

Jesus said that he didn’t come to be served, he came to help us. In the Gospel Mark Jesus declared all foods clean. Jesus also said that our sins are forgiven.
While Yahweh was vengeance and rejected a persons right to question their own judgement and make up their own mind (demeaning, diminishing, disempowering). Jesus said in Gospel Matthew 4:17 “Go beyond your mind because the whole cosmic realm is available to you”.
Yahweh came for slaves. Jesus came to set the prisoners free.

Within the Christian religion there are many denominations. There is the traditional Catholic, then there are the Protestants and there are the Evangelical, and everything in between. My main focus here is on Roman Catholicism, because this has a history of assisting imperialism. But keep in mind that I am not an expert.

The Druidic, Alban Eilir. The Roman Festival, Hilaria, which commemorated Attis’ death and resurrection. And Sham El-Nessim of Ancient Egypt. All of these celebrations were tied to the spring equinox and nature’s renewal. They involved painted eggs, rabbits, and a period of fasting followed by a feast.
Before Christmas was ever celebrated on December 25th, there was the Roman pagan festival, Saturnalia and the feast of Sol Invictus. These were Winter Solstice celebrations. Without the sun, we would not be alive. And so mankind has venerated the sun ever since Babylon. Mostly during the Winter Solstice.
Every year between December 21st and the 25th there is an observable death and rebirth of the sun. As the sun reaches its lowest point in the sky, it appears to stop, or “die.” And it is then “reborn” as it begins to rise again. Several characters in history appear to be personifications of this death and rebirth. In 336 AD, the emperor Constantine established December 25th as the date to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. At the time, this was the birthday of Mithras and was observed as the feast of the “sun,” Spelled s-u-n. After 336 AD, it became the feast of the “son,” spelled, s-o-n.
Jordan Maxwell called this, Astrotheology. And pointed to several of these astrological events encoded into the King James Bible. The 12 tribes of Israel. The four Gospels. The seven seals and the four horsemen. Kabbalistic research uses celestial symbolism of the planets and the zodiac to interpret biblical narratives. So this is nothing new.
The 12 Disciples of Jesus, the son, represent the 12 constellations of the zodiac, traveled around by the sun. Mithras, the symbol of the sun, was often depicted being surrounded by the 12 constellations. Horus, the Egyptian God linked to the sun, was born during the winter solstice. His mother, Isis, was represented by the “virgin” constellation Virgo. And his journey took him through 12 hours of night. This same solar symbolism can be seen in the historical characters of, Krishna, Adonis, Tammuz, and Hercules.
The 12 constellations of the zodiac coincide with the 12 months of the year, and the 12 ages of the Great Year. Often referred to as, the precession of the equinoxes, the Great Year is approximately 25,776 years. And divided by 12, each age is approximately 2,148 years.
The Age of Taurus was often represented by bull worship. The Persian Sun God, Mithras, was known for “slaying the bull.” Marking the end of the age of Taurus. Similar symbolism can be seen in the bible. During the transition from the age of Taurus to the age of Aries there is the Golden calf rejection, ram sacrifices, and the Passover lamb. From Aries to Pisces there is Jesus as the Lamb of God transitioning to fish symbolism. And from Pisces to Aquarius, which is where we are at now, there is Water-bearer imagery in prophetic and apocalyptic texts.
The Cross itself is an ancient solar symbol. Its four arms representing the solstices and equinoxes which divide the four seasons. And the “sun on the cross” is the sun at its lowest point, during the winter solstice, before it rises again.

I was in a library in Springfield Lakes in Queensland Australia and saw shelves of books dedicated to mystism or magic targetted at the 8-14 year olds. That was disturbing. No I am not suggesting we all join hands and sing “Kumbaya my Lord, Kumbaya.” Sure secularism has it’s place but so does wholesome spirituality within the education system for our children. This must be determined by the parents and not the State. Whether the school adopts a prayer to God/Theos/Allah The Creator of the Universe and everything in it at assembly, or a silent prayer room that is inclusive should be thought out. I can imagine such a room would be built around an accessible courtyard with a sensory garden. No alters, no incense, no idols, just nature and comfortable seating and some shelter from the elements.
